Bridge at Groléjac

Looking north towards the bridge over the Dordogne at Groléjac (on the D704) where Das Reich's lead group under Adolf Diekmann clashed with the Resistance in the afternoon (at about 16:00) of 8 June 1944. Both the bridge and the hotel are post war in construction. The memorial to the Resistance is about 200 metres back along the road to the rear right of the photographer: see picture of the memorial.
