The car of Doctor Desourteaux (in the evening)
In this view one could be forgiven for thinking nothing very terrible happened at Oradour, as the scene looks so peaceful and quiet in the evening sunlight. The road to the rear of the Doctor's car is the Rue Emile Desourteaux that runs right through the town of Oradour-sur-Glane: see the town plan for more details.
