Distant view of Oradour old and new villages from close to where the SS paused
This distant view of both the old and new Oradours was taken from the D3 between St. Victurnien and where the road crosses the D9, it is nearer to St. Victurnien than the other view. The modern church in the new Oradour is clearly visible, but the original church in the old Oradour is hidden to the right of view. It is just a little further along this road, to the right, that the SS paused in order to make their final preparations before entering Oradour and where Kahn says he waited. This picture was taken in October 2007 and the leaves are just beginning to turn brown as autumn sets in.
