Diekmann as a Funker (circa 1936)
This photograph of Adolf Diekmann shows him as an SS-Funker (Signaller) during the time he was a member of the SS-Nachrichtensturmbann (Signals Battalion). Note the right hand collar patch which shows the lightning flash of the signals corps and which from a distance looks like a third 'Sig' rune. In this picture he is about 22 years old and it would have been taken in approximately 1936. The Nachrichtensturmbann was based at Berlin Aldershof.
