This smart honour guard was standing by the side of the Place Charles de Gaulle in Oradour-sur-Glane new village, just out of sight to the left is the Town Hall and in view on the right is the Hotel de la Glane: see village plan. The troops were present at all the important stages of the commemoration event: the church service, the Town Hall, the school, the church and of course the cemetery.
